Hello everyone!

Its been a while since the last time I hit publish on a post! Hope you have had a lovely and positive week so far. If not, I am sure that things will turn out to be better! You can do it right!

On coming straight to the blog post here, I am sure that the title must have made you think. There are a lot of contradictory opinions on this topic. Many a people, ok, maybe sometimes, even me, believe that happiness is only possible when things are going right for us. Unless we come across that cloud with a silver lining, we do not truly feel happy from deep within. It is only human to feel this way.

But, does happiness really depend on money? Can the existence of money in our lives guarantee happiness?

If you feel that it does, let me tell you that the most beautiful smile I have ever seen is on the innocent face of a child who knows nothing about money. Reflecting back on my memory of this happy child made me question what I used to believe!

Sure, money can buy you items that can ensure that you have a wholesome life. It can rarely buy the moments that can make one ecstatic or give one that warm glow of being happy. It can only buy you something that can make someone happy. So if your happiness is gaining money, you can find happiness with money!

Happiness is an emotion. It is priceless. No amount of money can buy us any happiness. One has to take that one crucial step on the journey to happiness if he or she wants to find any of it on their life path!

Science and the bestseller, ‘The Secret’, point out that having an attitude to gratitude and positivity help attract the life of our dreams. This shows that embracing positivity and happiness in spite of having even a few reasons to, leads to increased happiness.

Let’s all have a thankful and a grateful heart for all things that contribute to even a tiny thing in our lives. That way, we will never run out of healthy moments of happiness!

Here’s some wednesday wisdom on the topic;

Money can buy you a fine dog but only love can make him wag his tail.

You aren’t rich unless you have something that money cannot buy.

I have learnt how much happiness only money can bring you, very little.

Money can’t buy happiness, neither can poverty. Only a thankful heart can embrace it.

Money alone can’t buy happiness. It can buy something that brings happiness.

There is no correlation between happiness and amounts of money.

Money isn’t everything but happiness is.

Any thoughts on this topic? Do let me know!
Have a positive day! Love, Pooja.

Hello!

Hope you all are having a fun Sunday!

Today I wanted to share the above quote with you all.

We all know that life is not the same everyday. Change is the law of life. Sometimes, life blesses us with beautiful and unforgettable moments. But many a times, life knocks us down. It is during these hard and trying times of our life that we need to stay strong the most.

I have always talked about being happy and about the importance of happiness in our lives. But is it really possible to stay happy all the time?

Every emotion has a major role to play in our lives, even the negative ones. After all we are all humans and life without the presence of negative emotions isn’t possible.

Dwelling over negative emotions isn’t healthy. It is always advisable to get over our negativity and hurtful experiences and start each day afresh! Here’s where happiness comes in.

Happiness is not something that you can buy. It isn’t a commodity which you will never run out of. In fact, happiness is a journey and to be truly happy, one requires an attitude to look at life through rose-tinted glasses. On this journey, you might lose the way temporarily. Just when you shift your thoughts to happiness, you might be taken over by sadness and pain again. But don’t stop choosing joy. Remember that you can always choose joy any second of your day!

All it takes is a change of perspective!

There is no person on this planet who is completely free of problems and negative emotions. Life is all about finely balancing the positives with the negatives.

So from today, do the best you can to solve your problems and let them go. Stop paying extra attention to your problems and focus on the good things you have been blessed with in this lifetime!

Stay happy and be the reason for someone’s smile today!

Have a positive day! Love, Pooja.

Hello everyone!

It feels good to finally find time to write and connect with you all again! This has been a very busy and eventful week for me. Most of you must have had a busy one too. Sure, I had some new experiences and learnt new stuff but we all do need some leisure time – time just for us!

I haven’t been able to write a lot or even do anything apart from work. I have missed my ‘me’ time as well which is why, this week, when I have been called to work on a Sunday as well, it really made my mood fly out of the window!

Working on a Sunday is just sad which is how I am feeling right now. It’s just like dark clouds have rushed and covered the bright and cheerful skies and washed away my idea of a happy weekend!

But that’s when I decided to think about this in another way. Being a writer for a blog on successful living, I simply had to, didn’t I? I decided to be grateful for the fact that I had a job. The world has many people in it who are restlessly seeking employment opportunities, I was once one of them too. So now, when I have one, shouldn’t I practice gratitude for it?

This very incident has inspired me to write today’s blog post! Can you think about the many useful and essential things each of us already has? Have we expressed our gratitude for each and every one of them? Let’s just name a few which each one of us is blessed with;

  1. The air we breathe in – It’s free and our very life is dependent on it and we all have it around us! But do we thank air? I think we should at least appreciate its presence.
  2. Food – The world has too many people who go to sleep hungry every single day. Practice gratitude for the food you are served.
  3. Shelter – Be aware of the roof over your head. Be a little more grateful if you own it!
  4. Water – The clear liquid which has too many roles to count in our lives. Have access to it? You are blessed.
  5. Education – A very important journey that can take you places. Be grateful because not everyone gets the means to study.
  6. Employment – Something that gives you an opportunity to trade your skills for money which can buy you independence! Be thankful for your job!
  7. Electricity – We all use electronic devices and currently you all are reading this blog which is possible only because of the device in front of you! Not everyone has access to such devices and technology.
  8. Happy moments – Be it a small happy second to a large happy event, remember that there was someone in the world who wished to have a reason to smile today!
  9. Loving people – Surrounded by people who love you, wish the best for you and prioritize you? Be grateful for their presence in your life and give them a call today!
  10. A purpose to live life – Whether it is to be successful in your endeavors, to achieve peace of mind or to maintain a beautiful home, having a purpose to live life is a gift. Embrace it and be grateful for it.

To name a few, all of us have these lovely things which add meaning to our lives. Be thankful for their presence and make a promise to your own self to be grateful for all that you receive in this life – Be it good or bad, as good things are often masked as bad ones!

Learn to live life and to observe it through rose-tinted glasses! 😊

Wish you a happy weekend! Love, Pooja.

        Hello readers!

It’s monday today! This day marks the start of another eventful week of work which is why getting worked up and anxious is but natural.

Wishing to start every week on a happy note? Get rid of those monday blues now by reading through these quick fixes guaranteed to get you cheerful in no time!

        1. Figure out why you dread ‘the Mondays’ – Stop dreading Mondays right now! Realise that monday is just like any other day, which it actually is. Try to zero in on what exactly is making you dread Mondays. A little self introspection can help here. Is the dread related to not getting to office on time? Set your alarm a bit earlier than usual and see how it works for you. Is it because of your work? Try to get the issue resolved to get rid of the monday blues! Figuring the cause for your dread will help you solve this problem once and for all!
        2. Schedule a fun activity – Notice how we look forward to the fun activities we schedule? Who said that fun can be only had on weekends? If you have a relatively free monday evening coming up, schedule something fun to look forward to after work! Go shopping or watch a movie which you have been planning to watch for quite some time now. Meet up some friends for a quick get-together or binge on tv!
        3. Meditation or exercise – These are great at eliminating the feeling of dread and replacing them with positive feelings. Meditation and exercise boost your happiness levels and decrease stress. They increase the blood supply throughout the body and make you feel refreshed and energetic. These help boost your immune system, increase your strength as well as cut the flab! All in all, a great package to try out.
        4. Listen to music – Listen to good music, one with motivating and uplifting lyrics! Researchers have found out that musical beats affect out heartbeats and thereby affect our mood. This activity is also said to be a complete workout for the brain as it improves your memory, your listening skills, decreases pain, aids in sleep issues and so on. So what are you waiting got? Go grab those headphones now!
        5. Go walking –  There are a few things that cannot be cured by a simple walk. Walking is great for both physical and mental health. About 5 minutes are also enough for your body to show anti-anxiety effects!

Try these methods to beat your monday blues in no time and do let me know if they worked for you! They sure do work for me! You don’t even need any expensive stuff to indulge in all these. Know something else that works even better for you? Let me know!

          Let’s have happier Mondays!

          Love, Pooja.
