Hello everyone!

Hope you are having a relaxing Sunday!

Today is a special day for every father and child – It’s International father’s day! Just like any other such occasions, I have been coming across father’s day plans, ideas, gift options & freebies exclusively for dads propping up everywhere throughout the week.

Today, children are displaying their love for their fathers with gifts and cards and by spending quality time with them.

If you haven’t yet given your dad either of these and are lucky enough to be close to him, do so as soon as you finish reading this post! 😊

Today, dads have become the talk of the town. Everyone is exchanging fatherly tales and advice they have received from their fathers and are posting photos with them as well.

In the midst of this merry and loving environment, lie some of us, like me, who are a little less fortunate than others as they have lost their fathers or whose fathers are no longer a part of their lives.

For them, today this is just like any other day, only worse. For me, each day, especially father’s day, has never failed to make me cherish the moments I spent with him when he was still here. This day seems to be full of bittersweet moments, hope, longing and memories!

Although I will never get the chance to create more happy memories with him as he went away too soon, I am thankful for his presence in my life, however short! I feel blessed to have had a caring and loving father. I was the apple of his eyes.

I would suggest everyone who are fortunate enough to receive their dad’s love and care, to value and to cherish your relationship with him! Give him some of your time or atleast give him a call to ask him how his day has been. I am sure that this tiny thing will make his day a lot happier! 😊

To all the fathers in heaven, you will be missed and remembered and will always hold an irreplaceable place in our hearts! 😊

Wish all the fathers around the world a very happy Father’s day! Your children love you a lot and they need you to complete their lives! 😊

A special mention to all the single mothers out there who single-handedly carry out the daunting task of mothering her children. Just like my mother! Happy Father’s day to you all too!

“Father – A son’s first hero, a daughter’s first love.”

“God himself chose to be called as father.”

“How do you know if a man is a hero? Ask if he has a daughter.”

“The love between a father and a daughter is forever.”

“A father is someone who carries pictures where his money used to be.”

“Some super heroes don’t wear capes.. They are called Dads.”

Love, Daddy’s girl – Pooja.

Hello everyone!

Hope you have had a good week! It’s already Saturday morning and for me, the week just seemed to fly away.

I haven’t been able to write as much as I wanted to this week but I will try my best to make it up in the next one!

Last week, Maggie of dreaming of Guatemala nominated me for the Cramm Award in one of her award posts. This is why, today’s post is going to be related to my nomination for the Cramm Award!

The Creator of the Cramm Award: Liv at theCramm is the creator! The Cramm is an awesome website which converts everyday news into an easier to read through format. Do check it out!

Nominator: Maggie of dreamingofGuatemala! She is an amazing individual and I always look forward to her blog posts. This award, coming from her, is very special for me! 😊

Rules for the Cramm Award:

  1. Include a little bit about who created this award (with a link) and mention the person the who nominated you.
  2. Share 3 things that motivate you to blog and share 3 people who motivate you to blog as well
  3. Share one thing you hope to do that will improve the world.
  4. Answer your challenge question
  5. Nominate your choice of bloggers and give them a challenge question

Three Things That Motivate Me To Blog:

  1. The exchange of thoughts – A big reason that motivates me to blog is the fact that blogging introduces my thoughts and ideas to other bloggers. The interaction with other bloggers irrespective of the the topics they blog on is something that I enjoy!
  2. A chance to help others notice life’s little pleasures – I love it when people like what I write or at least feel a little happy when I share my experiences with them.
  3. The enormous number of quality blogs based on varied topics! – Of course! I can never leave out all those awesome bloggers out there. The internet is flooded with so many of them whose writing motivates me and makes me challenge myself when it comes to writing!

Three People Who Inspire Me To Blog:

    1. My mom  My mother inspires me to do so many things, including blogging! She has always supported every decision i have ever taken in my life and that alone is an inspiration for me to keep doing better each day!
    2.  My guiding angel – I am sure there is one who always guides me on my life path! My blogging journey is one such example – I created my website on the spur of the moment or rather it just happened without any prior planning. I had always wanted to start my blog but one evening, I simply decided to create a WordPress account and write out a blog post and hit the publish button! I think my guiding angel just gave me the push I needed to enter into the world of blogging! 😊
    3. Other bloggers – Ok, I know that other bloggers are not one person but they all are the ones who inspire me to blog and get better at it!

A big thank you to all these people! Without you, I wouldn’t have been able to write even a single word! 😊 💕

The one thing that can improve the world:

      Compassion –

“The most powerful force in the world that can change the lives of millions of people is Compassion.” – Steve Aitchison.

“Compassion is the wish to see others free of suffering.” – Dalai Lama.

I seriously feel that compassion is very important, has always been, especially at this point of time in the world. I have noticed that many people are sometimes insensitive when it comes to other people and their sufferings. People have developed a self-centric attitude and sometimes ignore to pay attention beyond their own self. Compassion is to become aware of another person’s suffering and to do your bit towards relieving the other person’s suffering and not to become the cause of another man’s suffering. A little bit of compassion and kindness has the ability to turn the world around! It has been scientifically proved that practicing compassion helps develop lasting happiness, the kind of happiness and self contentment that sticks around for a long time.

      My Answer to Maggie’s Question:

Question: What’s your favorite inspiring quote? Why does it inspire you?

      Answer: I love quotes and the messages they pass on to us. There are just so very mang ones that inspire me! But the following one has a big role in inspiring me;

“Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life. Tip toe if you must but take that step.” – Uche Odiatu.

This quote never fails to inspire me to take that one step closer to my goal. We have all been in that place and moment in our lives where we were unable to figure out where to begin or what to do next. I have hesitated or quit doing something all together because of this dilemma. This quote taught me that my efforts, however small, can be enough to propel me in the right direction. This quote has helped me get through those times, has motivated and inspired me to take that tiny crucial step further.

      Nominations:

I seriously get inspired by all you bloggers out here and this is why am unable to select a few. My nominations are open to all so if anyone who wishes to go ahead and answer my question can do so! 😊

      My Question:

If you lived your life without any fear or restrictions, what is the one thing you would do to change the world?

Answer away! I would delight me to read your answers! 😊

Have a great weekend! Love, Pooja.

“Life is better when you are happy!”

      Hello!

Hope you guys are having an amazing week! Although I am writing a post on things you should do more often, I am going to talk a bit about the picture above. I simply liked the kid in the picture on seeing him! His colourful dress is a treat to the eyes & isn’t that smile simply contagious? The picture completely justifies the word ‘happiness’, thereby making it a mandatory share on my blog! 😊

I prefer a couple of lovely websites for free stock images (Since I don’t want to get into any legal complications) to use for my blog posts. Using these till I actually start around clicking my own ones. This particular one is taken from Upsplash. It has an incredible collection of HD quality pictures captured by photographers which are free to use. Do check out the website sometime to see the beautiful pictures and boost your mood! 😊 Have you seen better ones? Feel free to share where you get your blog post images from!

      Coming back to the blog post topic! Today is a Wednesday. Inspired by the trending wellness Wednesday hashtag, I have decided to share 3 things that you should do more often. They are guaranteed to give you good results in the long run by affecting your mental and physical wellbeing. Read on, wellness is just half a blog post away;

      1. Notice life’s little pleasures – Be it a sweet smiling baby, a beautiful butterfly or a breathtaking rainbow, these everyday little pleasures add sunshine to any normal day. Often times we ignore these little joys and focus on life’s problems and stresses as they are always at the back of our minds. Make it a point to live completely in the present moment and on encountering joy, stop and appreciate it fully.
      2. Stop comparing – “Do not compare somebody’s tomorrow to your today!” Comparison kills creativity and originality. Each person is unique and one rule cannot apply to us all. To add to it all, each individual person works by his or her own unique time zone. If we are all different, how can we compare one person’s achievements or failures to another one’s? Think over it. Comparison only gives rise to negativity. Compete with your own self and strive to do your best!
      3. Practice affirmations – We all see and hear affirmations being talked about on social media. Their power cannot be overstated. Start and end your day with affirmations. They can simply be single positive statements you say to yourself or even a collection of some of them together. The key is to feel good. If you haven’t started this practice already, start now!

Remember that focussing on negativity and problems help no one. Let them go. Let the past stay where it should, in the past. These 3 practices can help you enjoy the present and to become more aware of your surroundings. See life through rose-tinted glasses!

Have a positive day. Love, Pooja.

      Hello again!

‘Like wildflowers, you must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.’ – E. V.

I am in love with the above quote! It shows that there is something that we can learn from every other thing around us, including flowers.

Flowers have so much beauty and contain magic within them! Magic enough to mesmerise anyone and uplift anyone’s mood in an instant! Just like the flowers in the picture above did! Simply noticing the above beauties in the morning made my day and I instantly knew that this was something that I had to share with you all!

      Since it also happens to be floral Friday, I am going to list down a few things that we all can learn from flowers. Read on for some major life lessons which flowers teach us every single day;

Bloom where you are placed An important lesson for us to remember! We CAN grow to our fullest potential irrespective of where we are placed in our lives.

Spread your fragrance Each of us have a fragrance or quality which is unique to us. Never let go of it, even if times get tough!

Learn to live with thorns Not all periods of our life are meant to be celebrated. Accept that life can and will be tough. It only makes the good moments sweeter.

You can survive unfavourable conditions – Just as flowers can grow on plants which grow through cracks, we too can find our greatest victories and achieve maximum growth even in adverse conditions.

Stay rooted Even on reaching your highest goals do not forget where you first started from. Stay humble and rooted to your branch.

The power of silence – Flowers grow to their fullest and bloom even in silence.

Beauty is diverse Every flower is different. There are so many varieties of flowers but each is beautiful in its own way! None can be compared with the other.

      This, of course isn’t an exhaustive list but all that I could compile for now. Will add some more in another blog post later! Concluding this post with another quote that I love;

‘The flower which grows in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all.’

Hope you have an amazing Friday! Stay happy! 😊

      Love, Pooja.

      Hello!

It has been less than a month since I started my blog, Life – Rose-Tinted, and I am thankful to you all for all your likes, comments and support! I truly appreciate it! You truly inspire me to do better with each passing day!

For today’s blog post, I have decided to go ahead with the Thursday thoughts theme.

I love reading thoughts as they help us become better people. They are an entire knowledge source within themselves. This is why I am sharing some of my favourite thoughts with you. Simply a collection of some lovely thoughts which I love reading through again and again. Going through them will give you that much-needed boost for the day and fill you with purpose and inspiration!

Read on for some food for thought –

‘Thousands of candles can be lighted from one single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.’

‘If you have the power to make someone happy, even if it is to bring a smile to their faces, do it! The world needs more of that.’

      ‘Shared joy is double joy.’

‘To fall in love with yourself is the first secret to happiness.’

‘A meaningful life is not being rich, being popular, being highly educated, or being perfect. It’s about being real, being humble, being able to share ourselves and touch the lives of others.’

‘Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is supposed to look like and celebrating it for everything that it is.’

‘There is no path to happiness, happiness is the path.’

‘We all have a unique art, a personal passion that serves as a vessel through which our souls speak. True happiness is found by filling it and purpose is fulfilled by pouring it out.’

‘Optimism is a happiness magnet. If you stay positive, good things and good people will be drawn to you.’

‘Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart than a piece of our mind.’

‘It’s all contained within the little things in life.’

‘Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light!’

‘I AM, are the two most powerful words. For what you put after them shapes your destiny.’

What do you think about these thoughts? Take some moments to reflect over these. Let me know about some of your favourites too! Wish you all a thoughtful Thursday!

      Love, Pooja.

      Hello again!

Just like any typical workday, I was sitting at my desk and thinking over ideas and looking for some inspiration for my next blog post (during break time, of course!). That was when I came across a quote and all of a sudden, I wanted to quote today! So after a lot of pondering over whether to ‘quote or not to quote’, I decided to jump right in and quote away.

Do you love quotes! I do and I have never met someone who doesn’t. If you think over it, there is a quote for almost every situation one comes across in life! I like quotes because of their versatility and the way that they can relate to any individual! They force you to stretch your boundaries of thinking and show you a path that you might not have figured out before. This is why, today, I have decided to share a simple yet lovely quote with you all.

I think this quote is one of my all time favorites! But oh.. If only simple quotes didn’t have to be so complex. We all know this quote and have seen it so many times but do we really listen to and implement the message it shares across to us? I am sure that you all know what I mean to state here as we, often times, take things for granted and fail to see them as blessings by focusing on our life and its difficulties .

We do indeed have many beautiful reasons to be happy! Every tiny reason counts!

Just wanted to remind you about them all by adding a post about it here! 🙂

Have a positive day. Love, Pooja.

      Hello to everyone!

It’s a lovely day out here today! A perfect one to pen down all the random and colorful thoughts swirling around in my head. I can hear the birds chirping away as I sit by the window and I can say that it is the most relaxing setting to start the soothing and creative process of writing.

Basically, this conducive environment is what eventually led me to my WordPress reader and I got instantly hooked to the collection of lovely posts I came across. The WordPress reader and all my fellow bloggers are definitely my new-found love! 🙂

As I was scrolling through, one particular post caught my attention! The one referring to the weekly meme, ‘The Wondrous Words Wednesday’! Sounded very interesting to me as I simply love words! I believe that each word, be it a little one or a big one, contains enough magic and power to help catch a reader’s heart!

      So here I am, writing a blog post pertaining to this amusing weekly meme! I have picked up this challenge and have a few ideas, as well as an apt image for this topic! What else could any blogger wish for? I am now cutting down the talk and my top three entries are as follows;

Word number one – Sophrosyne – This is, in fact, a Greek word which relates to a Greek concept of possessing a healthy state of mind, especially one which is characterized by moderation, self control, an awareness of a person’s true self which ultimately leads to true happiness! I simply love the deeper meaning behind this word as well as the sound of it! It feels calming and soothing to me somehow. 🙂

Word number two – ‘Serendipity‘ – I am in love with this word and it has been a part of my screensaver since ages. It means finding something really beautiful without even looking for it. Few words can match up to the magic and wonder of this word! This word makes me believe that magic is just waiting around the corner, ready to happen to anyone, anytime! 🙂

Word number three – ‘Elysian‘ – This word is used to describe anything that is creative or beautiful, perfect and peaceful or divinely inspired. This word, its meaning and the way it sounds when one utters it instantly caught my attention! This is one word I love to use often!

Of course, there are many other lovely words worth mentioning here but these are all for today. Maybe I might follow up with a few more later. Wrapping up my post with the beautiful ambiance these words have created for now! Let me know what you think about them and if these words speak volumes to you too! What other words can you think of? Do let me know!

Passing over lots of love and happiness to you through my rose-tinted glasses! 🙂

      Wondrous Words Wednesday

      Control

Hello to all the readers out there!

The inspiration for the topic I have decided to write on came from today’s, The Daily Post’s, prompts challenge! I love to challenge myself when it comes to writing which is why I decided to utilize the prompt!

So I thought over how this word could be used to make it suit the theme I write on! Which is what compelled me to write further right away..

So coming straight out to the topic – Can you control your happiness? Can an abstract emotion such as happiness be confined to the finite cage of control?

Being happy and choosing to be happy are personal choices. Happiness is to be set free and with freedom comes more happiness! There can be no control over expressing it and sharing it with your loved ones! Happiness after all, multiplies by sharing it with others!

The only time you should let the word control get into something as personal as happiness is when you tend to let this valuable emotion be controlled by others or exterior circumstances. If you choose joy, you will feel it, irrespective of any negative emotions around you. Every person, himself or herself alone, can control the uplifting feeling of their happiness! Choose to appreciate life’s little pleasures and be grateful for all the little miracles in your life and I am sure that life will reward you with many more such miracles!

Through this blog post, I wish to urge everyone to go ahead and take control of the reins of their happiness and joy into their own hands! Get out there and start doing all the things that you are passionate about now!

Lots of love and happiness to you. Love, Pooja.
