Hello everyone!

Hope you all are well and having a great time doing what you all love! 😊

I haven’t been very active here for a week thanks to a very busy schedule but I have a few exciting things coming up! 😀 Have been working on them!

One of those things is my very 1st guest post! One of my goals for this month was to look up on what how guest posting works and to try it soon. Today, I am writing to let you all know that my very 1st guest post is active today! 😊 Yaay!!

So a few days after I set myself that goal, I came across Cassie Hampson’s post. She was asking for people to guest post on her blog & I felt that this was the opportunity I was waiting for!

Let me start by telling you that Cassie’s blog is really awesome! She blogs at ZombieGoddessBeauty & GirlswhoBlogRT about ‘a little bit of everything’ which makes going through her blogs a really interesting experience! 😊 Do check them out!
Cassie was kind enough to let the people guest post about topics which they would normally put up on their own blogs which was awesome for someone who is just starting out like me! Let’s say it was a win-win situation! 😀

Thank you Cassie for the awesome opportunity! The blog post was put up on her blog on the 31st of July i.e. yesterday night but am sharing it now because of the time difference!

So the topic I had chosen to write on for my 1st guest post was ”Reasons why the world needs positivity & tiny ways in which we can contribute”!

Do check out the blog post by clicking here!

Hope you like it and agree with what I say! Do let me know in the comments; either here or there! 😊

If you haven’t guest posted before, try it. It feels great to stay in touch with other awesome and like-minded bloggers who inspire you to do better each day!

Also stay tuned for the other awesome things that I have planned for you all – coming up in the next few days! 😀

Have a positive day! Love, Pooja. 😊

Hello everyone!

Hope that this week has started off on a positive and a more-than-kind note for you! 🙂

Today’s post is an update on my blogging journey. It has been a little more than two months (around two weeks less to three months!) since I began this blog. This post is a bit like my last blog update post (it can also consist of some tested blogging advice), the one which describes my experiences throughout my first month of blogging. If you haven’t read that one already, do so here!

Irrespective of everything I have experienced on this exciting journey, let me start off by telling you all that my blogging journey has been amazing so far and it continues to make me happy! Blogging has given me a reason to look forward to every single day. It has been made all the more exciting and like-able, thanks to all you lovely and supportive bloggers out here!

Coming back to the update, most of June and half of July was spent thinking over the following questions which every blogger encounters;

  1. Should I get my blog self-hosted? If yes, which hosting platform should I opt for?
  2. Content generation and content promotion! (Most important – as it is quality, consistent content that will get readers interested in any blog.)
  3. Should I commit to a blog challenge?
  4. How often should I write down a blog post?
  5. Is there any way to make my blog more appealing by using another theme, opting for better pictures, getting my own ones, better lettering, etc?

The answers to some of which I am sure I will receive with time and further blogging experience!

I feel privileged that during this month, I received tons of helpful blogging advice and tips from many bloggers running their blogs successfully. I admit that I did post a lesser number of blog posts during this last month because I was a little preoccupied with a lot of issues related to my blog and gathering this wealth of information! 🙂

This month I started off by establishing a social media existence for my blog namely; a Facebook page for this blog – ‘Pooja’s rose tinted glasses‘ and an Instagram handle – life_rosetinted! Make sure that you check these out by clicking on the links above and follow me if you are interested! 🙂

Amidst all this, some striking things that I learnt during this period are as follows:

  1. The importance of a blog schedule: Consistent and planned content generation is important which is where scheduling what goes up on your blog when is so important.
  2. The importance of finding your tribe: Your tribe consists of the people who love reading what you share and would love to engage with your content. It is extremely important to think over the ideal person who you feel will be interested in your blog. This helps create and craft specific targeted content.
  3. Be you to keep your blog running successfully: Your tribe loves to engage in your posts because of you and your content so give them more of that. Being original gives your blog quality audience.
  4. It is okay to run out of ideas only to be so full of them the next second: No explaining needed for this one!
  5. Quality over quantity: Writing down one post containing well structured quality content is always better than writing down five okay ones!

Another thing I have realized is that setting down some goals will help take my blog another valuable step ahead than where it stands at the end of each month! I have thus decided to go slow and break down bigger goals into smaller ones to have steady progress (as it doesn’t make sense to simply set big monthly goals – might just stress me out!) So some of my do-able goals for the coming month are;

  1. Learning and creating at least one useful printable (freebie)!
  2. Treating my blog as an important business.
  3. Structuring quality content.
  4. Increasing my engagement with other bloggers.
  5. Look up on guest posting and decide if I should go for it.

I hope to achieve these goals successfully and set new ones in the next update post! 🙂 Wish me luck!

Another thing – I would love to know what goals you are setting for your blog(s), social media accounts etc. and what actions are you taking to achieve them. Would probably help me know a lot more about your blogging journey and blogging in general! Let us all inspire and motivate each other to blog better and grow as better bloggers! 🙂

Wish you a fantastic day! Love, Pooja. 🙂

Hello everyone!

Hope you have all had a positively charged week! 😊

This week I have been working on several blog-related things aside from working. From learning on how to create content for my blog’s Facebook page to starting up on Instagram as well as working on a couple of posts, I have tried to get my hands on as much precious learning material as I can!

In the midst of this extensive learning journey, I was pleasantly surprised to be nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award! So, Reflection of Des has nominated me for this ‘neat’ award with a flowery and colourful badge. 😃 Have added an additional badge for the same award here above but the original one is the one below!

Thank you so much Destiny of Reflection of Des! It’s an honour to know that you appreciate my blog and like it enough to have nominated me. To all the others, do pay a visit to her blog. It is an amazing blog where she blogs about various interesting topics and aspects of life! It’s a real joy going through her blog!

Coming straight to the rules:

  1. Put the award logo on your blog. ✔
  2. Thank the people or person who nominated you, linking to their or his or her blog(s). ✔
  3. Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
  4. Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
  5. Let them know you nominated them.(by commenting on their blog, etc)
  6. Ask your nominees 7 questions.

Going further to get all the points ticked off, my nominees are:

I like all the awesome blogs out there but will add in a few names here! Others who wish to participate can do so! 😊

  1. Maggie of Dreaming of Guatemala (I know that she is on a blogging break for a couple of weeks, but yes, I love her blog!)
  2. Shruti of This is lit! Love how really neat her blog is.
  3. Sandhya from Indian & Indian fusion cooking. Beautiful photos of amazing food!
  4. Crazy sober girl. It’s a real neat blog!

Questions for my nominees:

  1. What or who acts as your major inspiration when it comes to blogging?
  2. What kind of blogs or blog posts do you love to go through?
  3. What do you consider an ideal present? Which can, according to you, surprise you?
  4. Are you a believer when it comes to miracles?
  5. What is your biggest dream that you want to see fulfilled?
  6. Name three things that you cannot live without!
  7. Do you have someone who’s stuck by you through thick and thin? If yes, send him or her a small message saying how grateful you are to have them in your life!

Here are my answers to the interesting questions asked to me:

Q.1. What’s the toughest situation you had to go through?

A. That was when my dad passed away unexpectedly. He was the pillar that held our family firmly in place and everything seemed to go haywire afterwards. It was tough to come to terms with the harsh reality of life for me as I was young at that time.

Q.2. Has blogging changed your life?

A.  Yes absolutely! It has definitely impacted my life positively in so many ways that it is difficult to describe in a few words. I can say that it is a lovely journey that has given me purpose to look forward to each day! 😊

Q.3. What’s your daily routine?

A. On weekdays, I start early every morning (Actually I am an early riser, be it any day!) as I have to get to work and have a 9 to 6 job. I then spend about an hour winding down from the hustle and bustle from the day. Sometimes, working on my blog also helps me wind down. I later spend some time working on my blog and catching up on some reading, listening to music or watching TV. Weekends are spent doing a lot more of doing what I love, reading, blogging, spending time with my family and pets, painting, etc. I can rarely be found at any social events or so and prefer to sometimes hang out with a handful of my close friends.

Q. 4. What are things that help you relax?

A. Being at home is the number one thing that gets me completely relaxed! Listening to music is another thing that recharges me. Reading books, especially going through the Harry Potter series, never fails to help me relax! I like learning new stuff as well and a new project relaxes me.

5. What’s your favorite meal to cook?

A. I am not much of a cook and am learning as I agree that this is a much needed life skill! I love to cook pasta, vegetables and make vegetable rice though. I like to bake a lot more than cook!

6. Are you a bookworm or writer?

A. Earlier I would have said that I am, hands down, a bookworm! Now that I blog, I am a bookworm who’s slowly blossoming into a writer as well! I guess all writers are first passionate readers.

7. Who’s the most important person in your life?

A. My mom! She inspires me and also turns into my critic time & time again!

So that’s it with the award and the rules! Hope you all have an amazing Saturday!

This week, I have also completed a whole new, crazy yet fun-filled first week on this blog’s Instagram account life_rosetinted! Instagrammers! Do check it out!

Wish you loads of positivity! Love, Pooja! 😊

Hello everyone,

These past couple of days I have been enjoying the rain! Mumbai is being blessed with heavy rainfall and a handful of those who enjoy the rain love it here. 😊

It seems like the earth wishes to cleanse itself of all accumulated dust and cool off after a hard hot summer!

Getting out to work is a joy, even though it can be a hindrance when it comes to travelling as well as reaching the office in a completely dry state! 😅 Trudging through watery roads and streets marks the full fledged arrival of the rainy season!

These days, I love to glance out of my office windows and watch the raindrops covering the ground below! The strong winds, lush green trees and rain pouring down are a wonder to look at! They seem to remind me of the beauty and power of nature time and time again.

At home, I love to binge on my favourite TV series or cozily get buried into a favourite book! After all, this is what rains are for! 😊

Sometimes, if you are lucky enough, you can even spot a mesmerising rainbow in the sky. I haven’t yet seen one this year so am on the lookout for one!

While going through my social media during these days, I noticed that I am not the only one who speaks about rains with so much love. Here are some lines which try to describe the beauty and wonder of rain;

“The sound of rain needs no translation.”

“Some people feel the rain, others just get wet.”

“Rain showers my spirit and waters my soul.”

“Nothing better than the sound of heavy rain while you are falling asleep.”

“Raindrops are the perfect lullaby.”

“I love people who smile when it rains.”

“Let’s all get lost in a world of books, hot cocoa and rainy days.”

According to me, rain carries joy for all those who wait and listen to it! It is definitely one of the toppers on my list of life’s little pleasures!

I don’t know how many of you readers are actually experiencing rain out there where you reside but if you are, I would really like to encourage you to enjoy these lovely moments while they last! 😊

Enjoy the rain and have an amazing week ahead! Love, Pooja.

Hello everyone! 😊

Feels great to be writing again! This post is going to be a bit different than my previous ones though.

I haven’t published a post in these few days as something else has been running over in my mind (on repeat mode!). Felt like sharing it with you all here!

In this era ruled by social media, I have come across a lot of blogging advice when it comes to sharing your blog. Every guide tells you to get it all out there as soon as possible! (If I am reading the right guides, that is!)

This is definitely an overwhelming situation for a budding blogger who is starting out!  This advice really got me wondering about whether I should have added my blog to social media too since day one. Thanks to this quote below to have added to my confusion!

Day one or one day! You decide!

So, I was thinking if it would be a little bit too soon for me, considering my blogging journey, to be adding my blog to Facebook and Instagram. Although, after a fair amount of time spent in weighing the pros and cons, I finally decided to go ahead! I have finally taken the plunge and have created a Facebook page for my blog yesterday.

Here’s the link – https://www.facebook.com/Life.Rosetinted/

The page is still in its initial stage but those who are interested in my blog and like reading what I write, please do check it out and follow! I am learning and planning to make it interesting soon enough! 😊

If you have any information or advice which you think can help me with getting things running smoothly, I am all ears!

Till then, wish you all a positive and powerful day! Love, Pooja.

Hello!

Hope you all are having a fun Sunday!

Today I wanted to share the above quote with you all.

We all know that life is not the same everyday. Change is the law of life. Sometimes, life blesses us with beautiful and unforgettable moments. But many a times, life knocks us down. It is during these hard and trying times of our life that we need to stay strong the most.

I have always talked about being happy and about the importance of happiness in our lives. But is it really possible to stay happy all the time?

Every emotion has a major role to play in our lives, even the negative ones. After all we are all humans and life without the presence of negative emotions isn’t possible.

Dwelling over negative emotions isn’t healthy. It is always advisable to get over our negativity and hurtful experiences and start each day afresh! Here’s where happiness comes in.

Happiness is not something that you can buy. It isn’t a commodity which you will never run out of. In fact, happiness is a journey and to be truly happy, one requires an attitude to look at life through rose-tinted glasses. On this journey, you might lose the way temporarily. Just when you shift your thoughts to happiness, you might be taken over by sadness and pain again. But don’t stop choosing joy. Remember that you can always choose joy any second of your day!

All it takes is a change of perspective!

There is no person on this planet who is completely free of problems and negative emotions. Life is all about finely balancing the positives with the negatives.

So from today, do the best you can to solve your problems and let them go. Stop paying extra attention to your problems and focus on the good things you have been blessed with in this lifetime!

Stay happy and be the reason for someone’s smile today!

Have a positive day! Love, Pooja.

Hello,

Hope you are having a great day.

Today I am going to write a bit about my blogging journey so far. I recently completed a month of blogging here at WordPress. I had been thinking about starting my very own blog for quite some time but actually got around to starting one last month.

Although it might seem a bit too early for me to write a post on my blogging experience, I wanted to share what this month taught me with you all. Blogging has taught me that every small reason, every new experience counts. Which is why I thought that I should absolutely write about this.

I must say that blogging is becoming an entirely different, creative and learning experience altogether for me. So this is what I learnt from my first month of blogging –

  1. Blogging is no less than a soul searching experience – The very process of deciding what to write on, writing the actual blog post, thinking over ways to make it better etc. all made me look deeper into what I already knew as a person. I am sure that the journey is only going to get more deeper and enriching as I go along.
  2. Jumping right into blogging gives one lasting lessons – I realised that I learnt a lot more by blogging on my blog than I would ever have from blogging tips, advice and so on. Not that I don’t appreciate them, I truly do but as we all know it, experience is the best teacher!
  3. One gets better at writing as and when he or she writes – As the saying goes, practice makes a man perfect. I am far from perfection but I can see a noticeable difference in my writing and thinking when it comes to gathering my thoughts and typing them out on to the screen.
  4. It encourages one to broaden their interests – Let’s put it across this way – I notice a post on a topic which normally does not interest me. Now that my fellow blogger has written something on that topic along with a compelling title, it seems to capture my interest and makes me curious. This is why I end up reading it. Since I started blogging I have read a lot more than I normally would and have explored many new interests!
  5. Every tiny thing can act as an inspiration – I think every blogger can relate to this one. I personally have started stumbling upon inspiration from day to day events and activities.
  6. There are lots of supportive bloggers out here – From appreciating and welcoming newbies to liking their posts, interacting with them and helping them out, I have come across so many supportive bloggers out here. Thank you to you all!
  7. It helps connect one to people like oneself – This one is a huge plus point. Blogging helps one connect and look through the blogs of people who are already better at what one wants to achieve. The possibilities of this are endless.

All that I have learnt along the way cannot be put down into words. I still have so many things to list down but I guess I will stop for now and maybe write a bit more about them all later.

Readers, what else did you come across on your early blogging journey? Do let me in on those through the comments!

Have a positive day. Love, Pooja.
