The weekend is finally here and to all those who have had a difficult week – You made it through! 😊  Keep rocking and relax!

Weekends are fun! Weekends are unpredictable as these are the only times when most of us do not have to go by a schedule! I am thankful for weekends because they allow me to catch up on the things I love but don’t find time for throughout the week. For me, weekends are a time to catch up on my reading, listen to music, spend time with my loving family and to read through all the interesting stuff posted by the bloggers at WordPress.

It is also lets me do one more thing that I love most, to write! Inspiration hit me today when I came across ‘The daily Post’s current prompt which is the word -‘better’!

Better is a word that has a big hold over happiness. In our lives, at some point or the other, we are all victims of the ‘better tag’! I have noticed that when people are asked if they are happy with their lives they always reply with a, “I wish I had better _______ (something) than I have now!”

They wish for better health, a better job, a better car, a better house, a better lifestyle, a better family and so on.

Wanting better things in life is the way one achieves progress. This wish is sometimes even motivating! A healthy wish to own ‘the better stuff’ is welcome but if your wish to get better things supercedes your happiness, unhealthy feelings like frustration and negation soon come into picture.

If you are experiencing this, let go of these harmful emotions today! Do not let these feelings ruin your present and stop you from loving what you have. Appreciate and be grateful for the things you have now and better things will soon follow.

After all, life is like coffee. It does not matter what cup we are served the coffee in, that isn’t the point. It doesn’t even make sense to judge someone else’s coffee based on their fancy cups. What matters is the taste of the coffee within. It is ours to enjoy!

Hope your weekend is full of positivity. Love, Pooja.

Hello again!

Just like any typical workday, I was sitting at my desk and thinking over ideas and looking for some inspiration for my next blog post (during break time, of course!). That was when I came across a quote and all of a sudden, I wanted to quote today! So after a lot of pondering over whether to ‘quote or not to quote’, I decided to jump right in and quote away.

Do you love quotes! I do and I have never met someone who doesn’t. If you think over it, there is a quote for almost every situation one comes across in life! I like quotes because of their versatility and the way that they can relate to any individual! They force you to stretch your boundaries of thinking and show you a path that you might not have figured out before. This is why, today, I have decided to share a simple yet lovely quote with you all.

I think this quote is one of my all time favorites! But oh.. If only simple quotes didn’t have to be so complex. We all know this quote and have seen it so many times but do we really listen to and implement the message it shares across to us? I am sure that you all know what I mean to state here as we, often times, take things for granted and fail to see them as blessings by focusing on our life and its difficulties .

We do indeed have many beautiful reasons to be happy! Every tiny reason counts!

Just wanted to remind you about them all by adding a post about it here! 🙂

Have a positive day. Love, Pooja.

Hello to everyone!

It’s a lovely day out here today! A perfect one to pen down all the random and colorful thoughts swirling around in my head. I can hear the birds chirping away as I sit by the window and I can say that it is the most relaxing setting to start the soothing and creative process of writing.

Basically, this conducive environment is what eventually led me to my WordPress reader and I got instantly hooked to the collection of lovely posts I came across. The WordPress reader and all my fellow bloggers are definitely my new-found love! 🙂

As I was scrolling through, one particular post caught my attention! The one referring to the weekly meme, ‘The Wondrous Words Wednesday’! Sounded very interesting to me as I simply love words! I believe that each word, be it a little one or a big one, contains enough magic and power to help catch a reader’s heart!

So here I am, writing a blog post pertaining to this amusing weekly meme! I have picked up this challenge and have a few ideas, as well as an apt image for this topic! What else could any blogger wish for? I am now cutting down the talk and my top three entries are as follows;

Word number one – Sophrosyne – This is, in fact, a Greek word which relates to a Greek concept of possessing a healthy state of mind, especially one which is characterized by moderation, self control, an awareness of a person’s true self which ultimately leads to true happiness! I simply love the deeper meaning behind this word as well as the sound of it! It feels calming and soothing to me somehow. 🙂

Word number two – ‘Serendipity‘ – I am in love with this word and it has been a part of my screensaver since ages. It means finding something really beautiful without even looking for it. Few words can match up to the magic and wonder of this word! This word makes me believe that magic is just waiting around the corner, ready to happen to anyone, anytime! 🙂

Word number three – ‘Elysian‘ – This word is used to describe anything that is creative or beautiful, perfect and peaceful or divinely inspired. This word, its meaning and the way it sounds when one utters it instantly caught my attention! This is one word I love to use often!

Of course, there are many other lovely words worth mentioning here but these are all for today. Maybe I might follow up with a few more later. Wrapping up my post with the beautiful ambiance these words have created for now! Let me know what you think about them and if these words speak volumes to you too! What other words can you think of? Do let me know!

Passing over lots of love and happiness to you through my rose-tinted glasses! 🙂

Wondrous Words Wednesday

Hello to all the readers out there!

The inspiration for the topic I have decided to write on came from today’s, The Daily Post’s, prompts challenge! I love to challenge myself when it comes to writing which is why I decided to utilize the prompt!

So I thought over how this word could be used to make it suit the theme I write on! Which is what compelled me to write further right away..

So coming straight out to the topic – Can you control your happiness? Can an abstract emotion such as happiness be confined to the finite cage of control?

Being happy and choosing to be happy are personal choices. Happiness is to be set free and with freedom comes more happiness! There can be no control over expressing it and sharing it with your loved ones! Happiness after all, multiplies by sharing it with others!

The only time you should let the word control get into something as personal as happiness is when you tend to let this valuable emotion be controlled by others or exterior circumstances. If you choose joy, you will feel it, irrespective of any negative emotions around you. Every person, himself or herself alone, can control the uplifting feeling of their happiness! Choose to appreciate life’s little pleasures and be grateful for all the little miracles in your life and I am sure that life will reward you with many more such miracles!

Through this blog post, I wish to urge everyone to go ahead and take control of the reins of their happiness and joy into their own hands! Get out there and start doing all the things that you are passionate about now!

Lots of love and happiness to you. Love, Pooja.

Hello again!

Since I have decided to write quite a lot about being happy and have made it my little pet project, here comes another blog!

I have often wondered over how many of us feel like we could go back to our childhood and re-live all those days again – almost every person wishes to. Childhood and it’s innocence enchants all. Ever wondered why?

Even if people might judge you sometimes, I say that we should all keep that happy child alive within us. Here’s why;

  • Because it is during our childhood that we listened to our hearts. Every action was made by being true to our heart’s desires. Although it is true that we as adults cannot sometimes do everything that we want to, we can still take out some time out of our busy schedules to do something that we all love!
  • As children we were never introduced to the process of over thinking! As we grow older, we tend to fret over small stuff a lot and waste a lot of our time and energy over it.
  • Children look at the world with awe and wonder and never let any bad experiences stop them from looking at the world as something magical, always ready to provide them with all that they desire, whenever they ask for it!

So what, as we grow, makes us stop doing all these things? Amidst all our daily problems and responsibilities, we forget to appreciate little moments of joy, which we did as children. My sole purpose to delve into our childhood is to make you all realise the pure joy and happiness we have all experienced as children.

Wish to bring that childlike awe to your life? There is no perfect way to do so but the ideas listed below can work just as well to bring some moments of childhood happiness back to your life..

  • Listen to your heart as it knows your calling!
  • Accept that life is not perfect and the most you can do is give your best to your job at hand. Stop over thinking and fussing over trivial matters as it leads to nothing but a feeling of unease.
  • Find time, at least a half hour, to do something that you love daily. You will find yourself in a better and happier mental state.
  • Irrespective of whatever happens in your life, never lose hope. Never forget to look at life through rose-tinted glasses! Believe that the world is magical and it will be a magical one for you!
  • Talk to children. Simply being with them can uplift your mood like nothing else can.
  • Go through your lovely childhood photos and memories and re-live them.

Life is a gift which is meant to be enjoyed. It’s happy moments are the ones that one tends to remember and reminisce about the most! Do something that makes your heart dance today which your future self will thank you for and remember to keep that child inside you, alive and happy! 😊

Hello again!

It’s been a few days since I last added a post here. Today, I am going to talk about why I have chosen to name my site Pooja’s rose-tinted glasses.

Since a long time, I always wanted to start a blog or a site of my own. In spite of this, I had never been able to zero in on what exactly I would write about. I followed countless of amazing blog posts on almost every topic one could think of and ended up being even more confused than ever!

But all these blogs made me realize one common thing – they all seemed to solve some or the other question and ultimately share joy with others! So I thought, hey! Why not start a blog on happiness itself? Writing about being happy would, no doubt, add even more happiness & fulfillment to my life!

The next question was what to name my blog & this was very easy. I wanted to write about how happiness can be found in tiny ways every single day. To make you all see them, I would have to give you a peek through my rose-tinted glasses! I simply loved the name and decided to go ahead with it!

Happiness is all around us but all it takes is a thankful heart to see it! Let’s stop being blind to it all from now onwards!

With this mission, I hope to make you all a little bit more happy via many more posts to follow!

Let’s spread joy!

If you know someone who needs to add that daily dose of happiness into their lives, do not forget to share this post with them! Let us all see life through rose-coloured glasses!

Love, Pooja.

I have noticed that many bloggers share a post which involves letting everyone else know a few random things about them and their calling. I gave this idea a thought and actually wondered over why and what might make everyone read one if I published something similar on myself too. After all you shoot know a bit about whose posts you are reading. So after some thought, I decided to give it a try! Here goes;

  1. I am the one and only child at my home & I haven’t faced any sibling fights and rivalries!
  2. My mom is my life’s treasure!
  3. I have a Master’s degree in Biotechnology.
  4. Baked goods are the love of my life.
  5. I am passionate about reading & can sit for hours doing so without a break! In fact I prefer to keep at it.
  6. I like working at my own pace, at leisure without deadlines. Although I am very good at keeping them!
  7. I own two beautiful goldfish & they bring sunshine to my life! I love talking with them! 🐠🐠
  8. Have been called nerdy many times and love quizzes which challenge my brain.
  9. I simply love chocolate, especially melted chocolate.
  10. Small baby feet & hands are a wonder of nature which I find very attractive. They never fail to uplift my mood!
  11. Know someone who loves all colours? Well, I love them all too!
  12. In love with pastels, roses & all things girly!
  13. Being an Aries-Pisces cuspian, I can be unpredictable sometimes.
  14. I like making people laugh, smile & feel good about themselves.
  15. Rain, nature & music calms my soul.
  16. My ideal day would be one at home. Especially a rainy one complete with some fun books, cake & hot chocolate!
  17. I love binge watching tv and can turn into a classic couch potato as well!
  18. Love to take emotional well-being & happiness seriously which is what led me to starting my first very own website!

Listing down all these just made me realise that there are a lot of things which can make us happy, however small.

I urge you to enjoy them & be thankful for possessing all the things that you have now & which make you ‘you’! I encourage you to write down a bit about you as well as it is a great exercise! Cherish every little blessing in your life! 😊
